Mission

Our mission is centered around a value system used to build a sustainable community one family at a time, by helping at-risk youth develop strong character, and skills necessary to help them become contributing members of society.

  • Volunteer

In the words of Margaret Mead, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world. In fact, it’s the only thing that ever has.” Help us make us difference by filling out the volunteer form.

    Scholarships

Rod Lemon Foundation offers educational scholarships to inner-city kids who excel in academics. Most inner-city kids from impoverished families are sometimes faced with the dilemma of studying or helping financially at home.

Rod Lemon Foundation is a 501(c)3, community-based youth development organization located in Anniston, Alabama. Providing inner-city youth with opportunities to Play, Learn and Grow is our strength as we seek not only to transform the lives of young boys and girls into young men and women but also to transform an entire community by creating and empowering a new generation of leaders.

To do this, (RLF)  uses a comprehensive developmental approach that includes life skills development, mentorship programs, career readiness, social work services, sexual health education, technology driven programs, entertainment, sports activities, youth academic enrichment, and college preparation guidance. These programs are geared towards creating a sense of belief within the community and the expectation that our youths can and achieve success despite their socioeconomic challenges.

    Our Values Include:

    • Creating innovative learning workshops where families and children learn
    • Enabling parents to support their children’s education
    • Have an ongoing consistent mentor-mentee relationship for youths
    • Increasing literacy and competency skills with at-risk youth
    • Promoting outreach activities that build strong communities
    • Supporting teachers in engaging students in school
